The 'Scentsation' Honeysuckle is bursting with color and fragrance. The extremely fragrant yellow flowers blooms from mid-spring to late summer, followed by bright red berries. This floriferous honeysuckle has a very long bloom time, and is a wonderful addition to summer gardens, especially when trained up a trellis or fence. Not invasive like other honeysuckles. It can even be trained up a potted trellis! An evergreen in warmer climates, and semi-evergreen where it is colder. Fun Fact: The Scentsation Honeyuckle won the Climbing Plant of the Year in 2016 in Montreal's Le Rendezz-vous Hotricole.
Provide average, evenly moist, well drained garden loam. Tolerates light shade in hot summer climates. Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. Feed with a slow-release, general purpose fertilizer in spring; repeat after first bloom flush. Provide support such as a trellis or arbor. Pruning is not necessary except to maintain desired size.Pruning time: prune after flowering.
