The Sea Green Juniper is another Landscaper favorite for its wide variety of uses to its' low maintenance personality. The Sea Green juniper is a compact shrub with a beautiful fountain-like, arching habit and soft foliage. It is a true evergreen, actually getting darker green in the deepest part of winter when it really stands out in your landscape.
This isn't a super-fast grower, but will eventually get pretty large, so plant accordingly. Sea Green Juniper is tolerant of many soils and weather conditions, though, so it makes a great shrub wherever you put it. It does best in well-drained soil and full sun. Sea Green Juniper looks great in a group, but consider using it as a specimen plant in your perennial border or rock garden. It looks great against the foundation of the house, too, softening hard edges like stairs and decks. It also looks great along driveways, fence lines and larger landscapes. Excellent in a variety of commercial uses due to great drought tolerance and low-maintenance once established. Pair with Pines and Hollies for a great, year-round, low-maintenace landscape.
They are drought tolerant and can suffer from overwatering or flooding conditions. They prefer full sun and should not be planted in too high of shade or they will become thin in appearance. Just a bit of prunning is all they need late winter to keep thier shape if any.
