The Old Glory Lilac is an exciting, new release from the United States National Arboretum, this exceptional lilac grows well even in the heat and humidity of the Mid-Atlantic and southern areas. A great Lilac for those humid Oklahoma Summers too. Abundant, fragrant, purple-blue flowers are displayed on a rounded form, with tough, disease tolerant foliage specifically bred to resist mildew. Deciduous.
Thrives in well-drained, neutral to slightly alkaline soils. Needs good air circulation. Water deeply, regularly in the first growing season to establish an extensive root system. Once established, reduce frequency; increase frequency again before and during spring bloom period. Fertilize in early spring. Prune after flowering.Pruning time: spring, immediately after flowering..
